BOOKS FOR UKRAINIAN KIDS-REFUGEES WERE PRESENTED IN KRAKOW

Children from Ukraine, who fled the war with their relatives and found temporary shelter in Poland, received an Educational Book for Preschoolers in Ukrainian language as a gift from the Cifers Foundation and publishing house “Sammit-Book”. The presentation of the publication took place in Krakow on the eve of the Constitution Day of Ukraine on 22nd of June 2022.

The two-volume Book for Preschoolers" is recommended by the Institute for Modernization of Education Content of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine as a teaching aid for education of 5-6 year old children within the "New Ukrainian School" framework. The manual contains various interesting tasks for children, which help to prepare the child for school: they develop logic, spoken language, imagination, memory and thinking of preschoolers, as well as teach them writing and mathematics. The book was published specifically for distribution on the territory of European countries where refugees from Ukraine are temporarily staying.

"We supported this project for Ukrainian children to get their first education in the Ukrainian language. That is, with the help of their mothers or older relatives, they could learn letters and numbers, develop speech, read Ukrainian poems and calculators, learn to think logically, paint and develop. In fact, when I first got acquainted with the manuscript of this book, I looked through all its chapters with great pleasure. I think that this is a very necessary book for Ukrainian children abroad. The books flew out instantly, there is a hunger for Ukrainian books here in Poland," said Anastasia Cifers, co-founder of Cifers Foundation, who was presenting the Book personally.

The Book was prepared by a team of authors of the Kyiv publishing house "Summit-Book": Olena Zavitaylo, Andriy Bodeychuk, Olena Khomchenko, Yuliya Berezhko-Kaminska, Svitlana Cherednychenko. The first print run of the book is more than 2,000 copies. Another edition will be printed soon according to demand.

The presentation of the Book for kids took place in the Krakov Public Library (Wojewódzka Biblioteka Publiczna). Ukrainian children's writers Inesa Dolennyk, Valentina Voznaya and Mila Radchenko also took part in the event.

The books are distributed with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Opolgraf, Embassy of Ukraine in Poland, “Women's Territory “NGO.
